How we compare eSIMs

eSIMFinder.xyz is an independent comparison site, not a certification body. This page explains exactly what we assess and how we describe it.

What we assess

  • Price - the listed price for a stated data amount and validity.
  • Data allowance - fixed gigabytes or an unlimited plan, with fair-use notes.
  • Validity - how many days the plan lasts and when the clock starts.
  • Network - the local operators a plan can use in the destination.
  • Coverage - how well that maps to where travellers actually go.
  • Hotspot - whether tethering is supported.
  • Activation - how and when the plan activates.
  • Phone and SMS - whether a local number or messaging is included.
  • Device compatibility - eSIM support and installation method.
  • Support - the channels a provider offers.

What we do not do

We do not publish invented star ratings, review scores, customer counts or "number one" rankings. We do not claim a provider is "the best" overall. Where we use a label such as "best for short trips" or "best for hotspot users", it describes a specific, documented criterion rather than a universal judgement.

How recommendations are labelled

Recommendations are tied to trip types and concrete plan attributes. For example, a "best value" pick is based on the lowest price per gigabyte for fixed-data plans, while an "unlimited" pick is the lowest-priced unlimited plan. The method is stated wherever we use the label.

Pricing and freshness

Every plan record carries a "last verified" date. Prices and inclusions can change at any time and are ultimately controlled by the provider. We display verified data where available and clearly mark anything that still needs verification.

Corrections

If you find an error, please contact us so we can correct the record and update its verification date.
